MEXICO CITY (December 7, 2020) .- Lizeth Yuridia, aka “La Chofis” or “Big Mama”, identified as one of the main operators of Mexico City’s criminal organization La Unión Tepito, was detained for the second time and linked to the process after the Superior Court of Justice gets the necessary evidence to try her, for the crimes of drug dealing, bribery and carrying a firearm without a license.
He also issued justified preventive detention against the accused, identified as a member of the first security circle of Óscar alias “El Lunares”, one of the visible leaders of the Union Tepito criminal organzation.
Regarding the charge of carrying firearms, the Judge declined jurisdiction before the Federal Judicial Power to resolve the legal situation of “La Chofis.” During the hearing on Saturday, December 5th, the supervisory judge set a period of one month to close the complementary investigation.
According to her criminal record, on November 27, “La Chofis” was arrested during an operation carried out by the Secretariat for Citizen Security (SSC) at the corner of Jesús Carranza and Matamoros streets, Morelos neighborhood.
When she was searched by police officers, they detected a .380mm caliber squad-type pistol, a gram-type scale, 19 plastic bags with cocaine, as well as 31 bags with stone cocaine, and 550 pesos in cash.
